Winning recipes: grasshopper cheesecake, choco cheesecake bars


Two home bakers in Wisconsin have taken the top prizes in the Taste of Homes recipe contest, “Best-Ever Baking”. 

Sue Gronholz of Beaver Dam was awarded Grand Prize for her Grasshopper Cookies & Cream Cheesecake. Taking first place was Andrea Price of Grafton with her Triple-Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

Gronholz was inspired to put a fun spin on her mom’s classic grasshopper pie. Her minty cheesecake was created for the town high school’s annual fundraiser and sold for “a hefty price.”

Price wanted to make a sweet treat to satisfy even the biggest chocolate lovers. Her cheesecake bars contain a chocolate brownie crust, chocolate cheesecake and chocolate ganache. The result is described as a “chocolate lover’s dream,” and the recipe is here.
